Concept of the museum
The museum will be located in an old factory building (see the picture) in the middle of the Ore Mountains in a little village called "Grossolbersdorf" in Saxony. Grossolbersdorf is about 20 kilometers away, east of Chemnitz near the Czech border - 500 kilometers east of Frankfurt. The construction work began in June 2000 with two full time employees paid by the German state. We hope we will continue to have this support. The museum will be operated by the newly founded license plate club, called "Interessengemeinschaft für Nummernschilder, Verkehrs- und Zulassungsgeschichte e.V." in short Nummernschilder e.V (means license plate club). The museum and the club will be financed through membership fees, entrance fees and donations. The club and the museum will work together with the local community, national and international clubs and museums. |
